It is also known as a non-return valve, one-way valve, backflow valve, and back pressure valve. The check valve is a type of automatic valve, and its main functions are to prevent backflow of the medium, prevent pumps and driving motors from reversing, and to release pressure from containers. Check valves can also be used in pipelines that supply auxiliary systems where the pressure may exceed the system pressure. Check valves can be mainly divided into swing check valves (which rotate based on the center of gravity) and lift check valves (which move along the axis). The function of this type of valve is to allow the medium to flow in only one direction while preventing flow in the opposite direction. Typically, this type of valve operates automatically; under the pressure of fluid flowing in one direction, the valve opens, and when fluid attempts to flow in the opposite direction, the pressure of the fluid and the weight of the valve disc act on the valve seat, thereby cutting off the flow.
